Known for its spectacular location close to the outdoor wonderland, Vancouver is a beautiful city.
The nightlife is varied and there are several areas that come to life after dark. It’s a single man’s paradise: choose from the Vegas trappings of Granville Street, the bars of Gastown or the laidback beach-style Kitsilano.
With so many places to meet beautiful ladies, you might be wondering about Vancouver’s best pick up bars. Wonder no more! We’ve pulled together a list of the best pick up bars in Vancouver.
A Guide to the Best Pickup/Hookup Bars in Vancouver
These venues are great for meeting single ladies, out-of-towners and frisky women who might be interested in hooking up…
It’s worth noting, however, that the venues are not marketed at pick up artists. Obviously. If you are looking to practice your ‘game’, it’s best to keep a low profile with the management!
Storm Crow Tavern
1305 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC V5L 3X5
Self-styled as a nerd bar with geek themed sci-fi films on the big screen the Storm Crow Tavern is very quirky. It’s not the most obvious of pick up bars but, compared to many of the guys who go there, your chances will be much better. It’s friendly and relaxed with craft beers on tap as well as microbrews.

Guilt & Co
Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1B
Guilt & Co has the motto ‘…choose the path of the righteous…or the sinful’ and you can expect a naught atmosphere within its intimately lit confines. They serve cocktails, nibbles and have live performances on the stage. They are also known for their games such as giant jenga as well as a menu at each table of the activities they offer. The bathrooms are mixed gender which makes for an unusual place for a pick-up but, nevertheless, an opportunity. It is a lively place to go in Gastown and the food is also very good.

The Lamplighter Public House
92 Water St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2K8, Canada
Situated in the Downtown area, the Lamplighter Public House is an informal pub that serves up local craft beer with a helping of sports. It gets a bit clubby at the weekends with Vice Saturdays being pretty popular. However, midweek Wednesdays are often run with specials and, as a result, can draw a good crowd. The bar staff do a great job at keeping the atmosphere light-hearted and fun which helps in a pick up situation.

Alibi Room
157 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1B8
Established in 2006, this ‘modern tavern’ serves over 50 beers on tap from a range of both imported and local sources. The heritage building is located just on the outskirts of Gastown and attracts a mix of students, trendy thirty-somethings and some stylish older ladies too. They don’t open very late so perhaps make this an early stop off.
The Pint Public House
455 Abbott St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2L2
In styling, think ‘Cheers’ and you can instantly picture this frisky sports pub. Beer is served in classic pitchers and bar bites are straight from the 1980’s. However, it’s a popular place that is at odds to Ted Danson’s TV bar. They open at 11am everyday and close at 2am or 3am depending on the night. They screen all the major NFL, NHL, NBA, WNBA, MLB and rugby games and with 40 screens you never miss out. The girls here are easy-going and usually enjoy their sports as much as the next man.
The Backstage Lounge
1585 Johnston St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R
The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island has a waterfront location and is directly adjacent to the Arts Club Theatre. Open ‘til 2am every night (midnight on Sundays) the bar has live music performances and is a hub for local artists (and groupies) as well as students and tourists. It is a relaxed and laid-back kind of place and making conversation is pretty easy.

2010 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6J 1M7
One for the Kitsilano area, the Bimini is a popular pub with plenty of choice in drinks and singles. It is cheap and known for being a real locals bar. Home to the official Tottenham supporters club the place gets busy on game nights but the nightlife on other nights can also get wild, sometimes with Vancouver bachelor parties. The Roxy is one of Vancouver’s oldest established nightclubs and is known for its live music, high energy atmosphere and wild antics. Situated in the heart of the entertainment district, all roads lead to the Roxy. Open from 8pm until 3am every night the venue is renowned for parties on the town and can get very busy at the weekends. With a motto of ‘what happens at the Roxy, stays at the Roxy’, the chance of a pick up here is high.
